[Week 23: Inspired by a Movie] I volunteer as tribute!

As tribute to quick and cute manis! 😉 I would have loved to put more time into this weeks mani but its has to be a quick mani this week! Lots of assignments due 😦

w 23 old

I really wish I still had time to do detailed manis like my previous Rio attempt but I just don’t have time with uni, work and life! Cue the Jamberry wraps which I can quickly slap on and have my pretty manis again!

In case you can’t tell, this weeks mani is inspired by the Hunger Games, as I am wearing a retired wrap called ‘Catch Fire’ 🙂 if you are loving the style, this bright orange wrap with gold base is similar to a current wrap in a pretty mint green called ‘Iced.’I have added an accent of a current wrap called ‘Gold Sparkle’ which is the perfect neutral accent nail!

[Week 22: Inspired by a Song] I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22!

Week 22! “I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22!” even though I frequently forget I am not anymore ahaha… Bet you can’t guess what I was listening to when I decided on this mani? Taylor Swift of course!

I am still pretty proud of my previous attempt… “It was a one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater” but again, I don’t have the time to invest into my nails now that I have to adult 😦

w 22 old

I remember last year when ‘Faux Fox’ came out, I thought it was ADORABLE and was lucky to get my hands on a sheet as it was part of last years Thanksgiving range. But”they are the hunters, we are the foxes!” This wrap is a pretty pale grey with a cute little fox peeping up on one half of the wraps, and his little tail on the other sides 🙂

w 22

I have paired Faux Fox with one of the StyleBox Exclusives that were released here in Australia a few weeks ago, ‘Vintage Meets Modern Grey’ it again is a classic light grey with a white wood grain print – which makes me want to say “are we out of the woods?

I think that’s almost as many Taylor references I can squeeze into one blog post… so it is time to “shake it off” with my new signature “style” jamicure 😛

[Week 21: Inspired by a Colour] Rose Quartz Meets Serenity

Inspired by a colour? Well, that decision was pretty easy! This years Pantone colour of the year is two tone, first, Rose Quartz which is beautiful soft pink and second, Serenity – a very relaxing blue. Now normally I couldn’t care less about the colour of the year, but these two are very pretty and soft and make for a cute mani!

I have used two wraps, ‘Rose Quartz Getaway’ which is a rose quartz base with a deep blue/sea green leafy pattern, with some accent nails of ‘Serenity Ombre’ which has a subtle gradient from silver to serenity. Initially I wasn’t too keen on the ombre as it is ever so subtle, but it has already grown on me and I love it!

I actually put this mani together a few days ok and it has been so calming to look at the pretty pastel shades, and the glitter! Perfect for the craziness that is mid semester of uni!

[Week 20: Water Marbled] Green & Gold + Water Marbling tips

Well, uni is well and truly into full swing again! Please excuse poor tidy up as I haven’t got time tonight to do that as well as complete everything else 😦 but this weeks theme is water marble! Being the olympics, who could pass up a green and gold water marble?! Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi! The London 2012 Olympics was what originally got me really starting to play around with nail polish, and its crazy to think 4 years later I am now SO LAZY with my nails!

I am so glad I now have Jamberry wraps which I can quickly slap on and go 🙂

Ladies, this took so much effort compared to normal! 😦 I wish I had the time to do stuff like this all the time but with uni, work and other responsibilities, I literally can not justify the time invested in this anymore! Bring on the Jams!

Anyway… This week I have used Jamberry Trushine Gel to apply a quick base, white (in ‘Porcelain’) and top coat – which I set to make dry time quicker and also prepare for any ‘mishaps’ that happened to easily remove that one nail without having to reapply a base.

When water marbling it is always a good idea to have a white base as the colour disperses in the water 🙂 I tried to do this mani Sunday afternoon and after 3 attempts gave up after continually getting bubbles from the water! So hence the good old gel base has been my time saving life saver! I played around with some colour combinations too, and ‘Zest’ and ‘Tropic’ were my winning colours!

Top Tips for water marbling from my nail time poor life?
1. using the gel as a base was a L I F E S A V E R – made any designs that came out I didn’t like so much easier to fix
2. warm water! I actually used my Jamberry heater to slightly warm up my water as it came freezing out of the tap – also, filtered water (or bottled)
3. play around with your colours and different ways of drawing patterns – find your style
4. use tape or vaseline to cover as much skin and make clean up that little bit easier!
5. finally, don’t try to water marble on a time scedule! You just end up frustrated and with paint everywhere ahaha

[Week 19: Galaxies] When you wish upon on a star!

Last week, it was over the moon, this week I am wishing on the stars! Let’s hope those wishes can come true! 😉

I was actually super proud of my previous galaxy nails! Only problem, they took about 3-4 hours for me to complete them :S but it was worth it right?!?!

This weeks wrap is a retired wrap from the 2016 Mother’s Day sets, it is called “Fine Lines” and I have been dying to see what this wrap looks like on! Definitely looks amazing in natural light and shows off all the colours in this gorgeous exclusive! Galaxy inspired nails in all of, ahh, 40 minutes? That because I am a perfectionist and did 2 sets of TruShine Gel 😛

[Week 18: Half Moons] Over the Moon!

RIP! A unicorn has died! In Jamberry land, unicorns are a real thing! They are a retired wrap which you love but is hard to find & today I killed one of my unicorns “Over the Moon”

“Over the Moon” is a pretty half moon style wrap which is a beige with a gold moon. I love this wrap, really wish it didn’t retire just before Jamberry came to Australia! I have also used a simple gold accent nail with the wrap called “Gold Sparkle” it feel so simple but pretty which I am loving!

w 18

Also, last time I tried to do half moons, it looked shocking! I tried using the stickers off ebay to do it, and I just remember having a gluggy mess, using a simple wrap definitely helped!

Tomorrow we get to find out which wraps will be retiring next month to make way for new designs and I am hoping we have some more half moons in the new catalogue 😉

[Week 17: Glitter] Sweet 16

Sweet 16 is my theme for 2016 🙂 so naturally, I had to use Trushine Gel in Sweet 16 for my glitter week!

This week is an all gel mani! I used Jamberry’s trushine gel kit, using a shade called ‘beauty sleep’ which is so pretty! I am loving the shimmery purple and to really make it glitter, I have done an accent nail with a few coats of ‘sweet 16’ which is a deep purple glitter through a clear gel 🙂 I am not perfect with my gel application yet, but this is probably the best application I have had so far so I am pretty happy!

So, yeah, not going to show you my previous glitter attempt 😛 I look like a toddler who can’t stay within her cuticles!

If gel isn’t your think, Jamberry has a heap of glittery ‘sparkle’ finish wraps! Best part about it? The easy removal! Gone are the days of trying to g e n t l y scrape glitter polish off! To see this pretty glittery wraps, click HERE!

Not going to lie, I am pretty excited for next weeks mani 😉 I have this beautiful half moon wrap which I have been holding onto for a while! In Jamberry world, we call it a unicorn… A retired wrap that is really hard to find so you will have to wait till next week to see it 😉
